I'm not usually one that takes a challenge -- but in this case, I felt I needed to.....
Last week, Jed Dearybury -- https://twitter.com/mrdearybury/status/1254050351378059266 - posted a thread on twitter that stuck a nerve. Though I agreed with much he was saying -- I felt that he needed to show the flip side.....and HA -- he invited me to do the flipping.....
And so I shall.....
But, I decided to go a bit farther -- if you will allow me.....and instead of writing one blog -- I hope to write several --- no, I hope to write many --- perhaps LOTS!
You see -- what Jed said in his thread is sadly true. I agree....that I have met several (though not many) edu-twitterers who I had admired from afar....that hmmmm....(well, I am sure I probably disappointed people too when they met me).....but, yes, I have met some that turned out to be quite different in RL than on twitter....in not an admirable way.
HOWEVER -- and this is a big however....that number is very low.....
and so, I do take the challenge --
and for the next few weeks....I hope to write a blog post each day or so....sharing two educators using twitter who are pretty much the same in RL as they are on twitter......
I need to preface this by saying that these people are not placed in any ranking order.....I have a long list -- and will just work my way through.
And with that said -- hmmm written -- here we go.
It would be unfair for me to NOT begin with Gail Lovely.

I met Gail over 25 years ago at a Connected Teachers Conference. She was speaking, I was learning. I was a newbie to tech....she became (though unbeknownst to her) --- my mentor. Back then.....they used to print out the handouts of all the speakers. They provided binders for you to grab EVERYONE's handouts so if you missed a session....you still could learn. I made sure I had copies of Gail's. Several year's later....I invited her to come to speak at our ACSI Convention Tech Luncheon...and she said "yes". She has always been willing to help out, to share, to educate....but never in a way that you would ever even think the word "ego". Though she enjoys all areas of ed-tech, she has a passion and a heart for the little ones! She is kind, she is genuine, she is willing to help out. I have learned a LOT from her in over 25 years......she has gone from a mentor, to a colleague, to a friend. I am blessed to know her. I invite you to follow her on twitter.
The next person I would like to share is Brent Coley.
https://twitter.com/brentcoley
Though I only lived 30 minutes from him....I met Brent online via his website about 14/15 years ago. http://mrcoley.com/
He was creating wonderful teacher resources and sharing them FREELY! And also sharing HOW he was creating them. He didn't mind if you copied his ideas....he wanted you to!
After a few years, I finally met Brent face to face....and we now enjoy car-pooling to conferences and edcamps.....talking about education, talking about our faith, talking about frustrations and hopes with our campuses....etc etc etc. He is the real thing....humble, genuine, willing to help, always wanting to be a better man and principal each day. (OH, I forgot to say -- he is my best friend's principal! - Lucky her!). If you are looking for someone who is willing to help -- wanting to help -- with no "pay back" necessary -- look to Brent! You will be glad that you did
